What we aim for
We build this site against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.2 at level AA. We are not claiming a formal conformance audit — we have not had one carried out — so this is a statement of what we have done and what we know.
What is in place
- Text and background colours across the site meet or exceed a 4.5:1 contrast ratio; body text on the page background is well above it.
- Every page can be operated by keyboard alone, and the focus outline is visible on every interactive element.
- A skip link takes you straight to the main content.
- Product and editorial images carry descriptive alternative text. Decorative marks are hidden from screen readers.
- Headings run in order and describe the section they open.
- Forms carry visible labels rather than relying on hint text inside the field.
- Background film is muted, has no sound, and stops automatically if your system is set to reduce motion. A still image stands in.
- Text resizes to 200% without loss of content or function, and the layout reflows to a single column on small screens.
What we know is imperfect
- The scrolling word strip on the front page moves continuously. It is hidden from screen readers and pauses when scrolled out of view, but it will still be visible motion for some people.
- Some product photography is styled at low contrast, which can make fine garment detail hard to see. The written description carries the same information.
- Checkout uses components supplied by our shop platform; we have styled them for contrast and focus, but we do not control their entire markup.
